[Tech] Xbox one controller broken after firmware upgrade on windows 10

Before updating the driver (shown as 'Xbox One Controller' in Device Manager instead of 'Microsoft Xbox One Contoller), the controller was not really working in my case. It was not possible to use all the buttons as define before and also remapping was not working.

OK, so I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but here it goes.

I downloaded the 'XBox Accessories' app yesterday from Windows 10 Store - the main reason for this was that I wanted to update my XBox one controller firmware.

The app downloaded, started without any issues, detected the controller and started updating after I hit the 'Update' button. It took some time to finish, but when it did, it just turned off... I was like - OK, no problem, let's turn it on again, BUT when it got it back on, it reported that I should plug in the controller. I tried testing the controller and it seems that it is no longer detectable by Windows 10 (the games and steam big picture doesn't detect it, while the device manager just states 'Xbox controller' ) - it seems that firmware update broken it.

The controller is plugged in via USB, the XBox one light is shining, but the system is not detecting anything. I have also tried restarting the system, and trying to update drivers via 'Device Manager'.

Did anyone have any similiar issues? Is there a way to reset the firmware on Windows 10?

Update 1: OK, so I got it to work, but partially - analog sticks are for some reason not being detected. I have installed the PC drivers from here: http://wccftech.com/xbox-controller-pc-drivers-download-courtesy-major-nelson/ and reconnected the controller by pressing the power button. Still got the issue where the 'XBox Accessories' app is not detecting the controller.

Update 2: I have also tried changing the drivers, as instructed here, but to no avail as well: https://steamcommunity.com/app/320140/discussions/0/535152276586519371/ At this moment, I presume that firmware is corrupted, but I cannot find any instructions on how to reset or revert it.

Update 3: I have just tried plugging in the controller into a different version of Windows 10 (this one didn't have an Anniversary update installed) and I am experiencing the similiar issue (everything works except the analog sticks). I am almost certain at this point that the issue is related to firmware update. Side note: the windows 10 did an initial driver instalation, the same one that happened on machine I am having trouble with at the moment. I will try to install the Accessories app on the 'non-anniversary' machine and see what happens.

Update 4: OK, for some strange reason, via 'XBox Accessories' app on non Anniversary Windows 10 the update has been successfull. I PRESUME, that the update failed and couldn't detect it on Anniversary W10... for some reason. This is a really strange behavior, and for most people it won't be a definite solution, but it's at least good to know to try and update the firmware via non-Anniversary W10 and that might fix the problem for you. Side note: what the actual fuck. Now the controller works on both Anniversary and standard versions on W10, as it worked before the firmware update.

Just picked up an Xbox One controller with Bluetooth connectivity. I recall disabling the Bluetooth Support Service as part of some of the Windows services I would normally disable if not using them. I have re-enabled Bluetooth Support Service but the controller is still refusing to connect.
I've gone to settings/Devices/Bluetooth & other devices and clicked on add Bluetooth or other device for which it says 'Couldn't connect'.
I don't have any Bluetooth icon in my Action center.
I've run the Bluetooth troubleshooter for which it says 'Select the repairs you want to apply' 'Check Bluetooth compatibility' then with a tick box that says No Bluetooth. After clicking next it says 'Bluetooth is not available on this device'
I'm at a loss, help?
