Feb 20, 2015 - 'Fixes' For 'Client / VAC Timed Out' Hi again, i've just got new info of how to fix this. If the above fails to fix the 'Timed Out' error, then try this.
Twitch App Download Timeout
I was invited to a Minecraft server which requires Agrarian Skies 2 to play, but when it finishes downloading and tries to delete the temporary zip, I get an add-on timeout error and a profile error.
I've tried to download it several time, but no luck. I can download other add-ons bar a few random ones.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, updating java, rebooting computer, but nothing seems to work.
Started a couple days ago, Downloads were failing when updating on curse client. So uninstalled, tried re installing. During the install it fails at 1.25MB downloaded. Addons from curse website just fail when connecting.
This isn't Blizzards problem.
You should be checking out Curse's forums for help there.
I have a ticket with them atm, putting a topic up cause it seems pretty hard to figure out what the issue was and seeing if anyone else has had the issue.
Have you tried to manually install your add ons?
I never did trust Curse's download manager.
Can't even manually download from curses website, the downloads just end up with network error.
Since the manual download always fails, you should test to eliminate the internet path health and stability being an issue try running a winMTR test and point it to the host www.curse.com
http://winmtr.net/download-winmtr/
- this test will not auto terminate- so please let it run a good 10+ minutes.
- use the Copy Text to Clipboard button to copy the results, then shift insert them in your thread.
If there are path and stability issues, then the download will fail at some point. It really only takes a few moments of a 'burp' for it to break things.
Post the results here and someone can glance at them to see if there are any congestion or drop issues.
If it's not internet path stability/health to the curse site, then the other culprit would be some kind of app blocking software such as an AV/Firewall. Frankly, that would be unusual but you never know. The download using a browser is pretty much simple these days- no real rocket science in how it works. Again, if the internet path is fine (based upon test results) then see if another browser has the same issue- ie: use chrome or IE or firefox whichever you aren't using when you get the error.
It should be resolved now as they went back to the old project page while they sort out whatever they did wrong.
You can always go here if you need to find an addon in a hurry
http://www.curse.com/addons/wow
@lucylockless, will try downloading the addons from another browser as well. Already checked Fire wall and AV.
If that fails then it's not Curse and you could try the standard telco response of shutting down modems, servers, switches, PCs, whaterever else you might have at home, wait 30 seconds and re-starting everything.

WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider
Also fire fox failed too.
As I said, they made some changes and reverted some changes. Your ISP or the data centers in Auckland haven't properly propagated those changes. Most likely their hosting provider or optimization/ content delivery service, cloudflare is having issues or hasn't updated properly to their oceanic data centers.
Basically all the tests in the world will not do a bit of difference if it either a routing, DNS, or issue with a load balancing site and host header information.
Meaning, not much you can do about it. If you want, you can, from a command prompt do
ping curse.comand see if it returns pings.
For now this is a curse issue and all you can do is report it to them and hope they fix it.
Most likely a DNS or data center issue not propagating correctly to New Zealand. I assume from the result you posted you are somewhere in the central part of the country.

Thanks heaps for the help, sort of what i assumed it was but wasn't 100% sure. Appreciate everyone's time.
Put in a ticket with Curse.
Open a command prompt, ping curse.com.
Check your DNS settings, likely using Google's DNS (8.8.8.8) may resolve the issue.
