I really enjoy Felicity Heaton's Vampires Realm series. The characters tend to be the type that you can get into their heads and feel what they're feeling. The vampire bloodlines are interesting and different enough that you don't feel like you're retreading old ground with every book. The bad guys tend to be bad. And that's exactly what I'm looking for.
Here we have a two strong warriors who have been torn apart by some stupid mistakes and a lack of communication. Or maybe it's a lack of wanting

Reunion is a free ebook from Heaton in the Vampires Realm series. I was curious enough to download it and am glad that I did! The short story follow the vampire Mari, a Law Keeper, as she investiges an attempted murder at the mansion of her family whom she hasn't seen in fifty years. Mari uses her new position as a shield to guard her from the pain of her separation from her ex, the Russian-accented, violet-eyed vampire Jascha. In a little over 100 pages, Heaton told a wonderful tale of vampire...more

This installment of Vampire Realms, Marise the Venice Law Keeper is called to her bloodline to investigate the assassin attempt on Timure’s life. Can she set aside her feelings for her past lover and complete the mission without putting herself and others in danger? This story is very focused on the love between Marise and Jascha and helps put away the one lie that has torn down their relationship. I really like this short story and it has enough romance and action to balance out. The only thing...more

This was a free ebook from Felicity E. Heaton and I am glad to find another great author to read. Probably due to be it being offered free this book is a bit short. Even short there's a great story and likable characters. I found her world of vampires intriguing and I will definitely be looking into reading the rest of her series Vampires Realm. I enjoyed the main characters and their struggle. If you are a fan of paranormal romance stories you should for sure give Felicity E. Heaton a try. She...more

I found Reunion for free on Kobo, so I decided to give it a try (along with some of Heaton's other free stories) despite the fact that I haven't read any other books in this series. On the whole that didn't matter. Yes, there is some history that might make more sense if I'd read books one through three first, but there was enough world building and backstory within the text that one can read this novella as a standalone tale. It was enjoyable enough. The plot was interesting and there was plent...more

Enticing
Blood, danger and heartache make this book worth reading! Who says love is a weakness? Felicity is amazing at every turn and you won't be sorry about reading her work. Ever.

Interesting paranormal romance
Quite interesting and intriguing short story, reads very well for a short novel. Characters were okay and it was a sound plot.
Once again I have found a good book in this story. I found it hard to put it down until the end.

I just couldn't get into it, I've read much better vampire stories this was disappointing.
Reunion:
Heaton is one of my must read authors. I really enjoy her work, and I love this series, Vampires Realm, of books. However, this was not my favorite. It's worth the read, it just wouldn't be my first pick. I would still recommend the book though to anyone looking for a good vamp read that doesn't follow the same tired theme of the majority of vampire books these days.

This is book 3.5 in the series. I loved it!
Marise is a great character. She is a Law Keeper (sort of the police for vampires) and has been for the past 50 years. I liked this character a lot. She is most definitely a take charge kind of person, and can kick some serious butt! (pardon the slang). Recalled home to investigate a deadly attack, she is confronted by her past.
Jascha is an elite guard in the house of Venia. I liked this character too. He is just as stubborn as Marise and just as pridef

Review Taken From The Pewter Wolf
After reading the amazing Tiger's Curse and wanting some fast to read to past the time till I can get my heands on its sequel, Tiger's Quest or whatever I decide to read next (got no idea at the moment), Sarah from Feeling Fictional tweeted about a free ebook and, seeing as I want to test out my Kindle with some fun stuff from authors I've never read before, I downloaded Reunion and started skimming through it.

I haven't read this author before, and after this book, am unlikely to do so again anytime soon. Marise was not a character I could relate to - nor did I want to. Jascha showed promise for a para or two, but quickly left me tepid, if not cool.
I found the story tedious to read, and that's being polite. The characters' world was seriously messed up. My disbelief was never suspended, and try as I might, I really couldn't whip up any interest in the outcome of this story. There was no character arc

118 = short story? I'm not sure so I didn't put it in that category. I think this is the first time I've read this author. Lots of angst in the beginning. Marise is called back to her vampire bloodline home to help them when their guards and leader are attacked and some are killed. She finds out one the guards attacked and barely alive is Jascha. Now this I don't understand, he's not hated and he's the leader of the guards but they don't clean his wounds, no one stays with him, even the girl tha...more

I really loved this book. It was actually a sweet but action-packed story of how two Vampire lovers were separated. Marise is a Law Keeper, a strong character and I love tough on the outside, soft and warm on the inside women like her. Jascha was as I love also the heroic character made of nails but melts in the hands of his lover Marise. I don't read a book just for the name on the cover, I read it for the synopsis. I really thought that this book lived up to my high standards for Paranormal Ro...more
I'm usually, and very rarely, given to place a '3' or lower on a book. Usually due more to effort than anything. I love Felicity's writing. I think she has a unique talent to bringing a story/tale to life. I just feel that this book lacked any passion in its writing. If it is going to follow the main story of the series, then Spellbound or Dark Moon Rising should have had a lead in to it. We are just catapulted into a new group of characters we have never met or heard of. What is to happen with...more

I really enjoyed this book, it was a great storyline, fast paced throughout and well balanced. It is the story of Marise, a law keeper, and her old one time love Jascha, whom she finds again when called to investigate the attempted murder of the Lord of her Venia bloodline. Jascha saved their lord in a bloody battle and is near death when Marise arrives at the Lord's castle. She very soon discovers she still has feelings for him, and there is a well written unfolding of their reunion and growing...more

Marise is a Law Keeper for her bloodline. She doesn't want to go home but an investigation requires her presence. An attack was made on a vampire, her previous love & lover.
Now she must conduct an investigation and find out who is behind the attacks and why. Assuming she can do her job without feeling the hurt from her broken heart due to the break up that took place fifty years ago.
This book was good. It was a slow read for me, something different than what I am used to reading.
Short ‘Vampire Realms’ story #3.5. Law Keeper Marise of the Russian Venia bloodline returns to the family mansion after an assassination attempt on their Lord Timur. She has been gone ever since becoming a Law Keeper centuries before and is reluctant to return to her hated childhood home.
Nice little separated lovers reunited story, but was surprised how easily the other Law Keepers accepted her challenge to the law.
Fave Scenes: 1) Marise attending to Jascha’s wounds and 'going the same way'.

Worse then expected
There are somethings to be said about what makes a good book. This book was too wordy and slow, it took me way to long to read it because it was boring. I expect more from my books I even read some passages to a friend of mine and he just couldn't handle the story. He asked me why i continued to read it. It was because I wanted to know the end, and was hoping it would save itself. Nope.

Just started this one. It's fairly easy reading, like the rest in the series. Heaton writes a good love story. So far, she has only slightly eased up on the frowns. That seems to be her facial expression of choice. He frowned. She frowned with concern. She looked down, frowning. That's been my biggest complaint about the series.
Update: As with all the other books I've read by this author, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and love her blend of romance and the paranormal.

Intense Story
To be a law keeper in the vampire world means only one thing. To protect the blood lines at all cost, to show no emotion. To be a perfect killing machine. Mari has been assigned to investigate an attack on the head of her bloodline. She must put aside any ill feelings she has towards her bloodline and find out what type hunter the vampire world has to deal with. A Hunter with a strength of a vampire.
This is actually the 6th book in the series, and although I have read some of Felicity Heaton's books, this is the first of this series I have read.
I found it pretty easy to pick up the story - yes, there were some elements where previous knowledge would have helped, but it wasn't essential - and found the characters were sympathetic.
A nice story, and will be picking up the rest at some point.

This was a free book from iBooks and is part of a series. For me, it was pretty much a harlequin romance with vampires... A big long, way too descriptive sex scene surrounded on each side with 100 pages of so so writing and very little plot. I was surprised with the lack of swearing in the book... I don't know why. Maybe because the sex scene was so explicit. I was not impressed.

This story was not the best I've read and it did catch my interest somewhat, but I had more times than I like to lose interest because it became a little boring. I did get more into the story towards the end, but all in all this story was a miss for me. I do love this authors writing in other books, but this one just didn't excite me as much as her other books.

A pretty good plot about a vampire law keeper. I liked the characters as well, but I feel like there could have been a lot more to this book. Seems like a lot of shorts are being put out in hopes to hook people for the series. I understand them wanting to sell books, but I'd rather be sold on the initial book than a short that leaves me unsatisfied. JMHO.

While utterly predictable, this was a nice little change of pace. I found myself disappointed that it is a series...and apparently part of a long series.
I don't have a lot to say about it though...good for a rainy day?
Disclaimer: I recently had surgery and am not back to myself...that maybe part of why I have little to say.
The Law Keeper and the Royal guard...this was so heart tugging and sweet. And I loved that the woman was the Lead/Hero/Strong one in this story must read the rest of this series. It is so addictive...romance, action and a great story with sex to boot. Who could ask for more, lol!
